What is creator seeding?
Creator seeding is the practice of sending products to selected creators in the hope that they will discover the product and may choose to share their experience.
Product gifting does not automatically guarantee a post. If publication, specific deliverables or deadlines are required, agree on a paid or otherwise clearly defined collaboration.
1. Choose relevant creators
Prioritise creators whose content and audience align with the product. Review previous product reviews, content quality and audience fit.
2. Make the package useful
Include the product, clear usage information and concise brand context. Avoid overwhelming creators with a long list of scripted talking points.
3. Manage logistics
Confirm the creator's preferred delivery details through a secure process, track dispatch and delivery, and provide a contact for product-related questions.
4. Keep follow-up respectful
Ask whether the product arrived and whether the creator needs additional information. Do not pressure creators to make positive claims or publish content they do not genuinely support.
5. Separate gifting from paid deliverables
If the campaign requires a specific Reel, publication date, usage rights or revisions, document those requirements and compensation clearly.
6. Measure the program
Track products sent, delivery success, creator responses, voluntary mentions, earned content and any trackable traffic or sales.
7. Follow up with promising creators
Creators who genuinely like the product and whose audience fits the brand may be suitable for a future paid collaboration.
A well-run seeding program is built on relevance, reliable logistics and honest creator relationships—not just the number of packages shipped.
